Pale Blue Dot

By Floris WolswijkPublished Edited 1 min read
In brief

A brief reflection on Sagan’s look at other planets and what studying them can teach us, alongside human uniqueness and a comparison with David Deutsch.

Pale Blue Dot by Carl Sagan is another look at our galaxy, this time with more focus on the other planets and what we can learn from studying them.

I see some overlap, and a difference of opinion, with David Deutsch. We are not unique in place or time, but as far as we know we are the only species that reflects on our being here.

Also see End Times for more about asteroids and related risks.
